VIRUDHUNAGAR: Three workers died and three others sustained injuries in a blast in a fireworks unit near Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu on Monday afternoon.Police said around 50 workers were involved in the manufacture of crackers at Mariammal Fireworks in Andiyapuram village in Virudhunagar district. On Monday afternoon, a blast happened in a working shed due to the friction of chemicals, killing three workers and injuring three others. The injured workers were admitted to Sivakasi Government Hospital. Fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the blaze. Revenue and police officials visited the spot and conducted an inquiry.
